Independent consulting Chicago area
Get found. Follow through. Know what’s working.
I help small businesses connect their website, customer follow-up, and business data, so it’s easier to explain what you do, keep up with inquiries, and see which efforts bring in customers. Based in the Chicago area and working with clients across the United States. Start with the problem that matters most, then build from there.
01Services
Three services. Start with any one.
Each service can be engaged on its own. They become more useful when they’re connected, but you don’t need all three to begin. Every engagement starts the same way: understand the problem, agree on a manageable scope and what success looks like, then do the work.

01Get found.
Websites & Local Visibility
“People can’t find us, or our website doesn’t explain why they should contact us.”
I make it easier for customers to find your business, understand what you offer, and get in touch. That can mean a new site or landing page, or improving the one you have: clearer service pages, a layout that works on a phone, and contact paths that actually reach you. Every website project starts with a free homepage mockup, so you see the direction before you commit to anything.
This covers search foundations, not ongoing SEO campaigns or link building.
Typical deliverables
- Website and landing-page builds with clearer service messaging
- Mobile layout and usability fixes
- Working inquiry forms and contact paths
- Google Business Profile review, accurate service areas, and basic on-page search setup
Connects to the restGives every visitor a clear path from finding you to contacting you.

02Follow through.
Lead Follow-up & Business Automation
“Requests come through different places, and keeping up takes too much time.”
I help you keep every inquiry in one place and cut down repetitive work, with systems your team can keep running. Often that starts with a CRM, which is simply a shared place to track contacts, inquiries, and next steps, connected to your website so new requests land there on their own.
Reminders and drafts keep a person in control. Nothing contacts your customers automatically unless we’ve agreed on it, and I only build what can be supported reliably.
Typical deliverables
- CRM setup with the fields and stages you actually use
- Website-to-CRM connections and new-inquiry notifications
- Follow-up reminders, email templates, and scheduling handoffs
- Simple written instructions and a walkthrough
Where AI can help
For suitable tasks, AI can summarize an inquiry, prepare a draft reply for your review, find information in approved internal documents, or help with recurring reporting. A person stays in the loop. Any account access, automatic sending, or use of business information is agreed first.
Connects to the restReminders and notifications keep the inquiries your website brings in from sitting unseen.

Analytics & Growth Decisions
“I’m spending time and money on marketing, but I don’t know what deserves more attention.”
I help you see where inquiries come from, how they move from request to estimate to booked job, and what to improve next. For most businesses that starts with a simple scorecard, not a custom dashboard. More advanced reporting comes later, if the data and the decisions justify it.
Tracking is never perfect. I’m clear about what the data can and can’t show, and about the difference between an inquiry, a qualified opportunity, and a customer.
Typical deliverables
- Tracking plan and setup
- Lead-source reporting and simple marketing scorecards
- Campaign and website analysis
- Prioritized recommendations, with periodic reviews where they fit
Connects to the restShows where the process works, where information is missing, and what deserves attention next.
02Approach
Illustrative workflow Not a client case study
One inquiry, followed all the way through.
Here’s how the three services could work together for a hypothetical service business. Most clients start with a single step. This shows why connecting them is useful, not what every business needs.
-
Website
Clarify the website
Services and service areas are easy to find, so the right customers ask for a quote.
-
Follow-up
Route every request
Quote requests from the site go into one shared contact pipeline instead of scattered inboxes and notes.
-
Follow-up
Notify and remind
The owner gets a notification and a follow-up reminder, so a response doesn’t depend on someone remembering.
-
Analytics
Track the stages
Requests, estimates, and booked jobs are recorded where reliable data is available.
-
Analytics
Review and adjust
A regular review shows which sources and services are producing worthwhile opportunities, and what to change.
Connected this way, each request has a clear next step, and each decision has some evidence behind it.
A hypothetical example for illustration. It doesn’t describe a completed project or predict results.
Questions, answered straight.
The things people usually ask before we start. If yours isn’t here, ask me directly.
How much does a website cost?
It depends on how many pages you need and what the site has to do. You start with a free homepage mockup, then get a written scope and price before any work begins, so there are no surprises. If the price isn't right for you, the mockup is still free. Worst case, you keep it. Automation and analytics work is scoped and priced separately.
How long does a website take?
About a week from an approved mockup to a finished site, for a typical small-business website. That's an estimate, not a guarantee: timing depends on how quickly we settle the mockup and whether your content and logins are ready. I'll give you a firmer timeline once I see the scope.
What is the free homepage mockup?
Before you decide anything, I mock up your homepage so you can see the direction: the messaging, layout, and feel of the rebuild. It's free and there's no obligation. You only move forward if the mockup convinces you it's worth doing. Send me your link and I'll start on yours.
Do you do ongoing SEO?
I don't sell open-ended monthly SEO retainers. That's the product too many small businesses have been burned by. What I do offer is two bounded plans: Site Care, which keeps the site updated, backed up, and working month to month; and a quarterly Visibility Refresh, where I tune up your Google Business Profile, refresh your service pages for what's changed, and check performance. Everything in each plan is named in writing, you can cancel anytime, and the honesty line doesn't move: no one can honestly guarantee rankings, and I won't. If what you need is deeper than that, I'll tell you exactly what I'd recommend instead.
Can you improve my existing website instead of rebuilding it?
Sometimes a rebuild is the wrong answer, and I'll tell you when it is. If your site is basically sound, we sharpen the messaging, fix the mobile layout, and repair the contact paths, the three things that decide whether a visitor becomes an inquiry, without starting over. Send me the link and I'll look at what you have and tell you straight whether a refresh or a rebuild makes more sense. Either way, you get the honest read before you spend anything.
Who owns the website and accounts when we're done?
You do, completely. Your domain, hosting, and business accounts stay in your name, and we put ownership of the site files, access, and handoff terms in writing before work starts. Too many small businesses discover their last web person owned their domain or held the site hostage over a bill. I set it up so that can never happen. You also get plain-language instructions, so you, or anyone you hire later, can keep things running without me.
04Working together
A clear process, whatever you start with.
You work directly with me, from the first conversation through the handover. Strategy is part of every step, not a separate phase.
-
Understand
Identify the business problem, how things work today, and the outcome you want.
-
Focus
Agree on a manageable scope, the deliverables, and what success will look like.
-
Build and connect
I implement the agreed website, workflow, or measurement work, and we review it together.
-
Hand over and improve
You get clear instructions. We look at the evidence available and decide what comes next.
05About
Strategy and the hands-on work, from the same person.
Vitale Signal is my independent practice. I’m an analytics leader and consultant based in the Chicago area, working with clients throughout the United States.
My work sits where business priorities meet practical implementation. I’m comfortable thinking through the strategy, and just as comfortable building the page, setting up the pipeline, or fixing the tracking myself. When we work together, you can expect:
- Direct collaboration with the person doing the work
- Plain-language communication, with no jargon to decode
- Measurement that answers a real question, not reporting for its own sake
- Systems sized to your business that your team can keep using
- Recommendations specific enough to act on
I also work with marketing teams that need practical measurement, reporting, workflow improvements, and implementation support.

You don’t need a finished brief. A few lines on what your business does, what’s getting in the way, and any timing that matters is plenty.
